'Mood Swinga'
From the "Interesting Things Heard on the Radio" department: Seems Inetta the Moodsetta, a part-time air host on WBLX in Mobile, Ala., is mad as hell and isn't going to take it anymore. So last Saturday she quit the Urban format station -- while on the air (audio).
Myronda Reuben, WBLX's program director, returned our call and offered, "We do not have much comment on that." She would not comment on Inetta's on-air accusations and complaints, but said, "We wish her the best." When we last checked, Inetta the Moodsetta's name was no longer included in the list of DJs on the station's Web site. But Ray Ray, Myronda and Nick at Nite, among others, were still there.
Mood Swinga: Speaking Up
You go Inetta. Many people may not be willing to admit it, but at some point in their lives he/she may have worked a job and were treated poorly in all ways pay, disrespect etc. You spoke up for all people who wish they could tell their boss or place of employment to go you no where. I know God has better things lined up for you. Wherever you go, I wish you the best.
Mood Swinga: Picked Up And Paid
Good for Inetta. She said what most of us wish we could say about or jobs and co-workers! I hope she will get picked up and paid properly by another station.
Mood Swinga: Best Radio
"Hey Inetta -- How you doin?" Girl that was the best radio I have ever HEARD! If you are going to go out, you go out with a BANG not a whimper. Inetta did what she was paid to do -- she gave the name of the last song, she kept the music bed going in the background and at the end of her segment (which was the icing on the cake if you ask me) she even hit the station identification button! Inetta made history and WBLX is getting nationwide coverage -- who can be upset with that? You better get it Inetta!!
Mood Swinga: Loathe What We Love
Unfortunately, this disc jockey had enough of low wages, bickering, and back biting on her job. She failed though to be the one to rise above the pettiness and she was the one in the end that lacked the fortitude to rise. She could have easily told her listening audience that she was leaving the station, and seeking a position that offered more in the way of a career. Like most of us sometimes, Inetta became comfortable and everyone knows that once comfort sets in, we become complacent and eventually contempt sets in. We then loathe the very thing that we once loved.
Mood Swinga: Owe Her
Perhaps the manager or whoever is in charge of HR needs to check out their credentials. Who in the world will work this long without at least a $1.00 raise? Put yourself in this persons place, how in the hell would you feel? You should send her a check for even showing up on the day she quit! You really owe her.
Mood Swinga: Congratulations Sista
I say congratulations Inetta. You told them off and they deserve whatever they get for treating anyone like they have treated you. I heard it here in Tampa, Fla., on another sister station of theirs I guess and I knew who you were already. My family lives in Mobile, Ala., and every time I am there I listen to you, Chris Holiday, and Rodski on WBLX. Word is that others are leaving too. Good luck to you all that is not fair and inhumane treatment.
