Dancing with Brahms

Audio for this story from Performance Today is not available.

Brahms wrote plenty of waltzes for the piano, but he also wrote a few to be sung. From his set called "Liebeslieder Waltzes," soprano Barbara Bonney, mezzo-soprano Anne Sofie von Otter, baritone Olaf Baer and tenor Kurt Streit sing the waltzes numbers 1-4 and 9. The pianists are Helmut Deutsch and Bengt Forsberg.
