People who like the latest in computer design are circulating a photo on the tech-gadget blogs. It's a laptop computer -- with the usual sleek screen -- but the keyboard is from an old-fashioned typewriter, with raised letters that look rickety enough to get stuck.

There's a wooden space bar, and even a telegraph key over the trackball. The computer was designed by "a creative Japanese fellow," as the Engadget blog calls him.

But there's some debate about whether it really works, or whether it's just a sculpture.

At least one blogger doesn't seem to care, and writes, "Even if it turns out that this doesn't work, I still covet it."
