17th-century lutenist Andrea Falconieri left us very little personal information. He seems to have led an itinerant life. We get to know him through two of his pieces, played by the early-music ensemble L'Astree, in Rome. They are the Battle of Barbabasso and a set of variations on the famous tune "La Folia."
