Chopin and Scarlatti

Joyce Yang burst onto the classical scene in 2005 with a second-place finish at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition. In Portland, Oregon, last summer, she paired a mellow Andante Spianato by Frederick Chopin with his Grand Polonaise Brillante in E-Flat. She capped off the concert with an encore: the Sonata in D by Scarlatti.
