E-Mail Scam Offers Millions from the FBI

text sizeAAA
October 25, 2006

FBI Director Robert Mueller wants you to know that he has not taken a second job as Ed McMahon. He is not going to unexpectedly offer you millions of dollars. That warning is necessary because of a bogus e-mail in circulation. It's supposedly from the FBI director, and promises that you could be eligible for a big cash payment. If you don't take the bait, a second e-mail arrives, threatening you with Federal charges if you don't respond to the first.
