NPR's senior correspondent Juan Williams joins the show from Memphis, Tenn., where he is reporting on the state's senate race.

The Democratic nominee, Rep. Harold Ford Jr., is in a fierce battle with GOP candidate Bob Corker to fill the seat being vacated by retiring Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist.

Williams talks with Madeleine Brand about a recent ad targeting Ford that some are calling racist.
