The attention of baseball fans is fixed on the battle between the St. Louis Cardinals and Detroit Tigers as they head into game five of the World Series.

But the career of Negro League player Norman "Turkey" Stearnes, who played for a Detroit team beginning in 1923, raises issues of how players from the Negro League should have been honored in the MLB Hall of Fame.
