A Little Something for the Conspiracy Theorists

NPR's John Ydstie is following the Senate race in Pennsylvania and has discovered the winner's secret:

The victory by Bob Casey Jr. in the Pennsylvania Senate race over incumbent Republican Rick Santorum is a rare thing in the Keystone State. It's the first time in 50 years that a Republican senator has been unseated.

It's also the first time since 1962 that a Democrat has won a full Senate term in Pennsylvania. Those taken with The Da Vinci Code will be interested to note that Casey is holding his victory celebration in the old Masonic Temple and Scottish Rite Cathedral... now used as the Scranton Cultural Center. The interior of the building still has those mysterious touches that can send the imagination running wild. Rich, dark-paneled walls with compartments built into them still hold books and Mason memorabilia. A large ballroom with a spectacular ceiling painted with rosettes, griffins, swans, sea creatures. Who knows what their meaning is.

The building gives off the aura that somewhere deep in its bowels someone is pulling the levers and setting off powerful forces...
