Hoping to stabilize the security situation in Iraq, President Bush is turning to diplomacy.

Last wee, Mr. Bush met with Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Jordan, and the White House has confirmed that he will meet this week with Iraq's most influential Shiite leader, Abdul-Aziz al-Hakim.

Bush also plans to meet with Tareq al-Hashemi, a Sunni leader, in February.
