NPR broadcast a live performance of Handel's "Messiah" last weekend from Philadelphia. Our excerpts from that broadcast come from the Christmas portion of the oratorio, performed by the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Philadelphia Singers, conductor Richard Hickox, soprano Lauren Claycomb, mezzo-soprano Catherine Wyn-Rogers, tenor Bruce Ford and bass-baritone Neal Davies.
