January 4, 2007 from WBGO - In a show co-produced by NPR and WBGO for Toast of the Nation, The Karrin Allyson Quintet radiates down-to-earth Midwesternness in this New Year's Eve appearance at the Kansas City Repertory Theater. Allyson's recent Footprints — with new lyrics fit to her favorite melodies — topped the jazz radio charts for seven weeks this past summer. It's a command performance from this Kansas City daughter and her band, with champagne at midnight thanks to KCUR.
