A Bag of Encores

Our bag of encores is overflowing. Turkish pianist Fazil Say is in Brussels, playing his own arrangement of Paganini's 24th Caprice. He calls it "Paganini Jazz." Then we go to Festival Miami in Florida, to hear the Bergonzi String Quartet play an arrangement of Mahler's Rhine Legends. And, to finish up a concert in Prague, the Danish National Symphony played Dvorak's Slavonic Dance No. 3 from Op. 72, in Dvorak Hall. Thomas Dausgaard conducts.
