US Airways Raises Stakes in Delta Bid
US Airways is prepared to up the ante in its bid for Delta Air Lines. The Wall Street Journal says the $10.8 billion bid is aimed at Delta's creditors, who have remained unimpressed with previous offers.

Our business news starts with a higher bid for Delta.
U.S. Airways really wants Delta Airlines, and according to the Wall Street Journal, it's prepared to come up with another billion dollars to get it. The new $10.8 billion offer is aimed at Delta's creditors who have a big say on any deal, and so far they're not sold.
It's the second time U.S. Airways has upped its bid for Delta, and according to the Journal, this could be the final offer. This week is the deadline for Delta to respond to that offer.
