Sunday It Is
When Ari Fleischer testified yesterday in the case of former Cheney aide Lewis "Scooter" Libby, the former White House press secretary showed he still had the old touch. Fleischer was famous among White House reporters for his evasiveness. The Washington Post reports that Libby's defense team had to strike deals to get basic facts into the record, leading the judge at one point to instruct the jury that "the parties have agreed that July 6th was a Sunday."

Ari Fleischer testified yesterday in the case against Lewis "Scooter" Libby, the one-time aide to the vice president. The former White House press secretary showed he still had his touch. Fleischer was famous among White House reporters for his evasiveness, and in court yesterday, Libby's lawyers found it hard to get answers from him. One long back and forth led the judge to instruct the jury that "the parties have agreed that July 6th was a Sunday."
