Car Dealer's Offer No Snow Job
Like much of the Northeast, Binghamton, N.Y., is covered in snow, but nearly two dozen people are celebrating. They'll get $5,000 each from a car dealer's Valentine's Day promotion. He promised the cash to new car buyers if at least six inches of snow fell.

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:
Our last word in business comes from upstate New York, which like much of the Northeast, is covered in snow. And in Binghamton, nearly two dozen people are celebrating. They'll be getting $5,000 each thanks to a local car dealer's Valentine's Day promotion, promising the money if at least six inches of snow were to fall.
The Chevrolet car dealer told the local radio station his promotion attracted about 20 new car buyers, and they started calling in for their rewards and the snow piled up well past six inches. The total payout could be as much as $100,000 but the dealer isn't too worried. He says he took out an insurance policy on his promotion so the insurance company will have to shell out the money.
