Krispy Kreme has a new offering: a glazed, whole-wheat doughnut. Billed as "an alternative for health-conscious consumers," it weighs in at 180 calories. Of course that's if you eat only one.

RENEE MONTAGNE, host:

And after those workplace worries and tensions in global stock markets, we end today's business news on a slightly sweeter note. Our last word comes from Krispy Kreme. The donut maker has a new offering: a whole-wheat donut. The Krispy Kreme whole-wheat glazed donut is billed as, quote, "An alternative for health-conscious consumers." And the company emphasizes it's only 180 calories. Of course, that's if you eat only one.

This is MORNING EDITION from NPR News. I'm Renee Montagne.
