Obama Gains Momentum as Selma Date Nears

text sizeAAA
March 2, 2007

The political news of the week includes this Sunday's Selma, Ala., commemoration of the 42nd anniversary of the Selma-to-Montgomery voting rights march. Sen. Barack Obama, Sen. Hillary Clinton, and former President Bill Clinton will all be in attendance.

Michele Norris talks with Chuck Todd, editor-in-chief of The Hotline and soon-to-be political director of NBC News.

They discuss a recent Washington Post/ABC poll that shows Democrat Sen. Obama leading fellow presidential hopeful Sen. Clinton in support among African-Americans.

And on the Republican side, candidates are positioning themselves for possible gains of their own.
