Government, Tribe Clash Over Bison-Care Contract

Two-years-ago, the federal government made a controversial decision to allow the Salish and Kootenai Native American tribes to manage aspects of the National Bison Range in Montana.

But in December, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service abruptly canceled the tribes' contract. Less than three weeks later, the government said it would reconsider.
