March 14, 2007Channeling the spirit of '70s rock isn't that difficult, considering how mystical and grandiose the music of that decade remains. Earl Greyhound picks up on it with light finger-tapping on a psychedelic electric guitar, drum sounds that could fill an arena, backyard-howling vocals and bass lines that thunder down the motor speedway. While Led Zeppelin sounds like the biggest influence here, Earl Greyhound also draws on the pop chops of Big Star and the psychedelic boogie of T. Rex.

Seattle-based KEXP presents a diverse mix of music, live performances and podcasts from indie rock and punk to jazz and old school soul.
