Jenni Bergal is the Supervising Senior Editor of NPR's weekend morning programming, Weekend Edition Saturday with Scott Simon, and Weekend Edition Sunday with Liane Hansen. Bergal's award-winning reporting on topics ranging from cosmetic surgery deaths to poor quality care and fraud in Medicaid HMOs, to phony car crashes that bilked the insurance industry of millions of dollars, has earned her numerous investigative journalism awards including the Gerald Loeb Award, the Worth Bingham Award for Distinguished Investigative Reporting and the National Press Club Consumer Journalism Award.

Bergal also is a two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist, and speaker and presenter at numerous investigative journalism conferences from Savannah to Chicago to Fort Worth. She is the co-author of the book City Adrift: New Orleans Before and After Katrina.
