State Budget Concerns

As state governments face mounting budget deficits, many want to reduce the size and costs of their prison populations. Allison Keyes talks to Republican Mike Kowall, a member of the Michigan House of Representatives, and Malcolm Young, executive director of The Sentencing Project, about whether state governments are balancing their budgets at the expense of public safety.
