It Pays to Fly U.K. Airline Flybe This Week

A low-cost airline in the U.K. is so low-cost, it's paying people to fly from Dublin, Ireland, to Norwich, England.

The carrier, Flybe, is paying 172 people about $75 each to make the trip over the Irish sea — and it's even throwing in free drinks and in-flight entertainment.

The airline is only offering the deal this week, in an effort to increase its passenger numbers. Flybe is in a dispute with Norwich airport over its passenger numbers, which haven't met an agreed-upon target. Flybe risks a hefty penalty from the airport if it doesn't make the numbers.

A manager at Norwich airport calls Flybe's plan "ludicrous."
