Pacific Coast Salmon Fishing Shut Down
A leading fishery council met Thursday to decide whether to ban salmon fishing off the West Coast. It's a response to a collapse of fish stocks in the normally abundant Sacramento River chinook salmon run. The reason fish are disappearing is still a mystery. But the Pacific Fishery Management Council voted to go ahead and ban commercial and sport fishing off the coast of California and most of Oregon.
