The Pentagon's Problems with Bad News
Family members of Army Ranger Pat Tillman aren't the only ones to receive inaccurate details about the battlefield death of a loved one. The Pentagon has mishandled information about other deaths in Afghanistan and Iraq. Steve Coll, a staff writer for The New Yorker, says the military is only now learning how to operate in a transparent, media-dominated world.
