Death Cab for Cutie may be on the road to promote its chart-topping new album, Narrow Stairs, but the band kicked off this in-studio session with "Photo Booth," a classic from 2000's Forbidden Love EP.

Then The Current's Mary Lucia took the interview off-road and on a vacation cruise. Really, how else would listeners learn about the band's friend who spent his cruise drinking tequila and eating bacon all day? She asked vocalist Ben Gibbard about his approach to songwriting and guitarist Chris Walla about his other job: producing records for indie-rock darlings such as Tegan and Sara.

Walla then sat at the grand piano and led the ballad "Talking Bird" before the band closed the session with an acoustic version of the epic single "I Will Possess Your Heart."

Originally recorded June 2, 2008.
