Fresh Air's rock historian considers the legacy of Lonnie Mack, who sings soulfully and plays a mean guitar.

His repertoire is exhaustive: it includes country, blues, rockabilly, Southern rock, R&B, roots-rock, bluegrass and gospel.

And while Mack's career has slowed since the 1960s, he's still chugging along, writing new material from his Tennessee log cabin. And yes, like any musician who is intent on staying in the game, he has his own Web site.
