Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick was sent to jail this morning for violating the terms of his bond in an ongoing perjury trial.

Kilpatrick made an unauthorized trip across the river into Windsor, Canada on city business. This latest twist in the ongoing scandal comes just weeks after the mayor was accused of assaulting a detective at his sister's house.

Kilpatrick will have to post $75,000 for his full bond or remain in jail.
