Former Marine Sgt. Jose Luis Nazario began standing trial for manslaughter in Riverside County, Calif. He's on trial for manslaughter for the alleged killing of four unarmed civilians during the siege of Fallujiah in 2004. It's the first time that a former service member has stood trial in a civilian court for crimes said to have occurred during the war.

Steven Cuevas reports for KPCC.
