Coloradans for Economic Growth
Coloradans for Economic Growth is an advocacy organization incorporated in 2008 that supports the Republican Senate candidate in Colorado, Bob Schaffer.
The group's leadership includes a former Republican state senator and conservative school reform activists. A strategy director for Rudy Giuliani's 2008 presidential campaign serves as consultant. The organization's platform advocates decreasing taxes and business regulation, weakening unions, opposing government-run health care, and promoting "free market" education reforms such as school vouchers.
The organization's spokesperson says it is a 501(c)(4) organization that grew out of The Center for Business, a tax-exempt Colorado nonprofit. The Center was registered with the Internal Revenue Service in 2006 by Republican attorney Scott Gessler, whose firm also incorporated Coloradans for Economic Growth.
