Tom Salmon is running for re-election as Vermont's state auditor. Salmon is serving in Iraq with the U.S. Naval Reserve. He isn't allowed to participate in his campaign because of a Pentagon ban on politicking by active duty members of the military.

Steve Zind of Vermont Public Radio reports.
