Twenty years after moving from South Africa to the U.S., Philadelphia-based folk-rocker Andrew Lipke has carved out a distinctive sound that reflects his surroundings, both past and present. Click the link above to hear Lipke perform live in concert from WXPN and World Café Live in Philadelphia.

With influences ranging from classical to classic rock, Lipke specializes in rock ballads with sticky melodies and occasionally dark insights on love and death. On his newest album, Mother Pearl and Dynamite, his swooning vocals are a perfect match for the cello and pedal-steel guitar of his backing band, The Prospects.
