Stock prices tend to go up the week between Christmas and New Year's — a trend known as the Santa Claus Rally. But this year the man in the big red suit and white beard is missing in action. Alex Cohen talks with Diane Swonk, the chief economist at Mesirow Financial in Chicago, about what went wrong.
