President-elect Barack Obama has made clear his desire to close the detention center at Cuba's Guantanamo Bay. Reports indicate that he may issue an executive order to close the controversial facility as soon as he takes office.

Jackie Northam is a correspondent for NPR's foreign desk. She has been reporting on the Guantanamo facility, and has details on who is detained there and the challenges awaiting Obama when he orders its closure.
