The StoryCorps Griot Initiative travels the country collecting the stories and recollections of black Americans. StoryCorps facilitator Jason Reynolds, Theresa Burroughs, who shared a story with the Griot Initiative, and Lonnie Bunch, director of the National Museum of African-American History and Culture, talk to Farai Chideya about radio and African-American memory.

Every Tuesday, News & Notes will be featuring stories from the Griot Initiative. For more information, visit the StoryCorps website.
