Britain's Queen Elizabeth II will arrive in the United States Thursday for a state visit that centers on the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown, Va. — the first permanent English settlement on American soil.

The queen and her husband, Prince Philip, will also visit Williamsburg in Virginia and NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Maryland before attending the Kentucky Derby Saturday.

The royal couple will be the guests of President Bush at a state banquet in Washington next Monday.
