Are you tired of all the bad news you've been hearing recently? Well, our kid's music reviewer, Stefan Shepherd, has a song to lighten things up a bit. It's a song that focuses on the positive.

(Soundbite of song "People Really Like Milk")

Mr. BILLY KELLY (Singer): (Singing) People like sunshine, people like Halloween…

STEFAN SHEPHERD: It's been a rough spring - the ongoing financial crisis, H1N1 flu, auto industry restructuring - so it's been easy to dwell on the negative.

Billy Kelly, however, is choosing to focus on what people like.

(Soundbite of song "People Really Like Milk")

Mr. KELLY: (Singing) …oh, sure people like that still from Baltimore to Brazil. People really like milk. People like flowers, people like fire trucks, people like Chewbacca, people like feeding ducks. People like watching other people dress as Uncle Sam on stilts, oh, sure, people like that still from Washington to Brazil. People really like milk.

SHEPHERD: Sure, it's a kid's song, but with an endearingly oddball sense of humor. Using shout outs to fire trucks, Chewbacca and Uncle Sam stilt walkers in the same verse, Kelly hits the geeky trifecta.

(Soundbite of song "People Really Like Milk")

Mr. KELLY: (Singing) …coffee cup. People like humming, hmm, mm, mm, mm. People like whistling.

(Soundbite of whistling)

People like guitar solos…

(Soundbite of guitar)

SHEPHERD: In this best tradition of pop novelty songs, "People Really Like Milk" is a song everyone can like - unless, of course, you're lactose intolerant.

(Soundbite of song "People Really Like Milk")

Mr. KELLY: (Singing) Scientifically speaking, it's a drink worth drinking from a big thing that says moo. People like talking…

NORRIS: The song is "People Really Like Milk" and it's by Billy Kelly. Our reviewer, Stefan Shepherd, blogs about children's music at zooglobble.com.

(Soundbite of song "People Really Like Milk")

Mr. KELLY: (Singing) People like Scotland, where all of the fellas wear kilts, oh, sure, people like that still from Aberdeen to Argyll. You ain't seen nothing until you seen, you can't get your fill and they sure never will, people really like milk.
