ALEX CHADWICK, host:

Next Friday? Next Friday is Halloween.

MADELEINE BRAND, host:

Friday night, it's a good time for us.

CHADWICK: What are the kids going as?

BRAND: Well, one of them is going as skeleton. The other one is going as a cat.

CHADWICK: Yeah?

BRAND: But her friend, one of her best friends, is going - seven years old - as Sarah Palin.

CHADWICK: I think it's a trend. I know a kid who's going as Joe the Plumber.

BRAND: Joe the Plumber, I love it. We want to know if you're going as any politically inspired character, and you can go to our blog, npr.org/daydreaming.

CHADWICK: We want pictures - pictures, please - and what you're going as, npr.org/daydreaming.

(Soundbite of music)

CHADWICK: And stay with us on Day to Day from NPR News.
