We go now to the Lissadell House in County Sligo, Ireland where several Irish music stars gathered recently for a Christmas celebration.

(SOUNDBITE OF BAGPIPE MUSIC)

WERTHEIMER: The traditional Irish band Dervish hosted the gathering, joining their guests for this arrangement of Christmas classics.

(SOUNDBITE OF SONG "DING DONG MERRILY ON HIGH")

PADDY MELONEY: Christmas and New Year at home that's always a big bash, and I have a wild meadow down in Wicklow. So we go out there and we celebrate and dance around a big fire over there, out in the garden.
