STEVE INSKEEP, host:

Good morning, I'm Steve Inskeep. A Michigan college has issued its annual list of words to be banished. Think of Lake Superior State University as your free speech fashion police. They target words they consider misused, overused, or just useless. And this year's list includes bailout, carbon footprint, maverick, green, game changer, and it's that time of year again. So, it's that time of year again. If you want to be a maverick game-changer, follow the list. You're listening to Morning Edition.
