OFFICIAL RULES: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. OPEN TO LEGAL RESIDENTS OF THE FIFTY STATES AND D.C., AGE 18 OR OVER. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. 1. SWEEPSTAKES SPONSOR. The 2009 Wait, Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me! Sweepstakes (“the Sweepstakes”) is sponsored by National Public Radio, Inc. (“the “SPONSOR”). 2. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER. Persons who wish to enter the Sweepstakes (each, an “Entrant”) are not required to make a pledge or contribution to, or to purchase any products of SPONSOR or Lumber Liquidators. 3. ENTRY TIME PERIOD. The Sweepstakes begins on September 10, 2009, at 7:01 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (Start Date) and ends on October 23, 2009, at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (End Date). No entries will be accepted before the Start Date or after the End Date. 4. METHOD OF ENTRY. Enter the Sweepstakes by clicking the “Submit” button between the Start Date and the End Date. Each Entrant must enter his or her first and last names and e-mail address and daytime phone number by filling in the corresponding fields prior to clicking the “Submit” button. Only one (1) entry per person is allowed. Any attempt by any Entrant to obtain more than one (1) entry by using multiple/different email addresses, identities, registrations and logins, or any other methods, will void that Entrant's entries and that Entrant may be disqualified. Use of any automated system to participate is prohibited and will result in disqualification. In the event of a dispute as to any registration, the authorized account holder of the email address used to register will be deemed to be the Entrant. The “authorized account holder” is the natural person assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted address. By submitting an entry to the Sweepstakes, each Entrant acknowledges and agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official Rules and by the decisions of Sponsor, which are final and binding in all respects. 5. MEANS OF SELECTING WINNER. The Sweepstakes Winner will be selected by a random drawing of all eligible and complete entries by SPONSOR on October 30, 2009. The prize will be awarded only to the winning eligible Entrant who complies fully with these Official Rules. 6. ODDS. The odds of winning will be determined by the total number of eligible entries received. 7. ELIGIBILITY. The Sweepstakes is open only to individual legal residents of the fifty United States who are age 18 and over. Any individuals who have, within six (6) months prior to the start date of the Sweepstakes or thereafter, been employed by or performed services (including but not limited to as employees, consultants, independent contractors or interns) for SPONSOR, Chicago Public Radio, Lumber Liquidators, or any of their respective subsidiary, affiliated or successor companies, and immediate family and household members of such individuals, are not eligible to enter or win. The SPONSOR reserves the right to verify and confirm Entrants’ ages and compliance with other eligibility requirements. Entrants may be required to submit further information to assist in verification of eligibility. 8. WINNER NOTIFICATION; AFFIDAVIT OF ELIGIBILITY. The Sweepstakes Winner will be notified on or about October 30, 2009. The Sweepstakes Winner will be required to sign and return within five (5) business days of receipt a notarized Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, Publicity Release and any other documents that SPONSOR may reasonably require. If the Sweepstakes Winner does not reply to any notification within forty-eight (48) hours, or fails to return any required documentation within five (5) business days of delivery to the Sweepstakes Winner, such Sweepstakes Winner may, in the sole discretion of SPONSOR, be disqualified and an alternate Sweepstakes Winner may be selected. 9. PRIZE. One (1) Sweepstakes Winner will receive a trip for two (2) to Chicago, Illinois, to see a live Wait, Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me! show. Prize package includes Carl Kasell’s voice on Sweepstakes Winner’s answering machine or voicemail; roundtrip coach-class air transportation for two (2) from major airport nearest Sweepstakes Winner's US residence to Chicago, Illinois; round-trip transfers between the Sweepstakes Winner’s home and nearby airport and between the Chicago airport and hotel; three (3) nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) accommodations at Hotel Allegro (single room, double occupancy) with a special in-room gift; two (2) tickets for entrance to the Wait, Wait . . . Don’t Tell Me! show; a visit to the “Green Room” to meet Peter Sagal, Carl Kasell and the program’s panelists; and a debit card with a $400 cash value. Travel must be completed on or before December 17, 2010, or prize will be forfeited. Trip must be booked at least thirty (30) days prior to departure. SPONSOR will determine airline and flight itinerary in its sole discretion. No refund or compensation will be made in the event of the cancellation or delay of any flight. Travel and accommodations are subject to availability, and restrictions, conditions and limitations may apply. All expenses not specified, including, without limitation, any cost of delivery, and any and all federal, state and local taxes are Sweepstakes Winner's sole responsibility. Travel companion must execute liability/publicity releases prior to issuance of travel documents and must travel on same itinerary as Sweepstakes Winner. If Sweepstakes Winner is under twenty-one (21) years of age, travel companion must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older. If Sweepstakes Winner is a minor in his or her state of residence, travel companion must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older and be Sweepstakes Winner’s parent or legal guardian. Unless a child of Sweepstakes Winner, travel companion must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older as of the date of departure. Approximate Retail Value $4,000. Actual value may vary based on airfare fluctuations and distance between departure and destination. Winner will not receive the difference between actual and approximate retail value. No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of right to receive prizes is permitted, except in the discretion of SPONSOR, which reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Prize consists only of items expressly specified in these Official Rules. 10. ENTRANT RELEASE. By submitting an entry, each Entrant agrees to indemnify, defend, release, discharge and hold harmless SPONSOR, Chicago Public Radio, Lumber Liquidators, Inc. and their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, promotional partners and agents, and all others associated with the development and execution of this Sweepstakes, and the officers, directors and employees of each of the foregoing, from any and all claims and liabilities arising from or in connection with participation in this Sweepstakes, including without limitation, claims for injury, loss or damage of any kind resulting from participation in this Sweepstakes. 11. GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS. By entering the Sweepstakes, each Entrant grants permission to the SPONSOR to use his/her name, photograph, likeness, voice, and/or biographical information for SPONSOR’s programming, publication, publicity, advertising and all other promotional purposes without compensation, review or approval unless prohibited by law. The SPONSOR reserves the right to terminate, modify or suspend this Sweepstakes due to any of an act of God; unavoidable accident; epidemic; fire; blackout; act of public enemy; war, riot or civil commotion; enactment, rule, order or act of government or governmental instrumentality or tribunal; strike, lockout or other labor dispute; inclement weather; failure of technical facilities; failure of essential production, or technical personnel to appear or be available for production or broadcast; or other cause beyond its control. SPONSOR is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, incomplete, damaged, mutilated, misdirected, mis-delivered, or delayed entries, or for technical or human errors or failures of any kind in connection with the submission, transmission, processing or selection of entries. 12. GOVERNING LAW. This Contest is governed by the internal laws of the District of Columbia without regard to principles of conflict of laws. All cases and claims pertaining to this Contest must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in the District of Columbia. 13. WINNER’S NAME. For the name of the Sweepstakes Winner, available after October 30, 2009, send a separate self-addressed, stamped envelope to Whitney Gratton, NPR, 635 Massachusetts Ave. NW, Washington, D.C. 20001. Responses will be provided to all requests made prior to February 26, 2010.
