Israeli Poets The most reknown Israeli poets, musicians, writers and dancers will be performing at the Kennedy Center over the next few months as part of the celebration of Israel's 50th anniversary as a State. Jacki is joined by poet Ronny Someck, and composer and singer Yair Dalal (Yah- ear Duh-lahl). Ronny Someck was born in Baghdad and went to Israel as a young child. His poetry has appeared in anthologies and magazines here the US and Europe. Composer Yair Dalal was born in Israel, he accompanies the Someck on the "oud", an ancient instrument much like the lute. The two performed at the Kennedy Center Thursday night.
