Malice Green Verdict
Malice Green Verdict
Audio will be available later today.
Jerome Vaughn of member station WDET in Detroit reports that a jury has found former police officer Walter Budzyn guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the 1992 death of black motorist Malice Green. Green died after a confrontation with police, during which he was hit in the head with a flaslight. Budzyn testified he never hit Green, but he admitted his partner Larry Nevers did. Both former police officers were originally convicted of murder, but their convictions were overturned last year by the Michigan Supreme Court.
