Cuba Sanctions Eased Secretary of State Madeleine Albright formally announced today that the United States will ease some of the economic sanctions that have been in place against Cuba for nearly forty years. Changes to the sanctions include the termination of a ban on cash sent to Cuba by exiled citizens in the U-S, the resumption of direct flights to the island, and the relaxation of restrictions on shipments of humanitarian aid.
