The two leaders are discusing the future of the Wye River peace agreement, in talks that will likely set the tone for their relationship. Arafat wants Barak to give a precise timetable for the release of Palestinian prisoners as well as two Israeli troop pullbacks in the West Bank. The pullbacks are called for in the Wye accords, but Barak would like the Palestinians to forego the second one.
