Barak & Mubarak NPR's Jennifer Ludden reports in the latest step in the Middle East peace process, Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak met today with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. Barak is trying to hold onto a proposal to the transfer of some 10 percent of West Bank land to Palestinians, as called for under the Wye River agreement. Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat rejected the proposal earlier this week, and now various world leaders are weighing in on the issue, quietly pressuring Barak to implement the agreement in order to move forward with the peace process.
