Audio will be available later today.
NPR's Mary Ann Akers reports on the air traffic control tapes released today related to the crash of an Alaska Airlines plane in January. All 88 people aboard the plane were killed when it crashed into the Pacific Ocean north of Los Angeles. On the tapes, cockpit crew members are heard talking with air traffic controllers about trouble with the plane, and pilots of other aircraft are heard reporting the descent and crash of the Alaska Airlines craft.
