Alaska Airlines Probe
Alaska Airlines Probe
Audio will be available later today.
NPR's Wendy Kaufman reports on the status of investigations of the Alaska Airlines crash. The National Transportation Safety Board is focusing on the stabilizer jackscrew. The nut through which it turned shows damage, possibly because too much play had developed between the nut and the screw. A federal grand jury in San Francisco had been investigating maintenance practices at the airline before the crash, and that probe continues.
