Orpheus Chamber Orchestra a Model for Business
Audio will be available later today.
NPR's Rick Karr reports on The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, which has no conductor. Musicians work in small groups to determine the ensemble's approach to a given piece of music, then communicate that approach to the group as a whole. The orchestra is in residence this semester at New York's Baruch College School of Business, where MBA students are learning how to transport this model of a "flat" organization from the rehearsal room to the boardroom.

The Orpheus Chamber Orchestra presents its musical democracy as a model for the business world. Ken Nahoum hide caption
