Clinton and Barak NPR's Mike Shuster reports on President Clinton's meeting this morning in Lisbon with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak. Although no concrete steps toward an Israeli-Palestinian agreement emerged today, the resident was upbeat, saying a settlement is "within view." Mr. Clinton is sending Secretary of State Madeleine Albright to meet separately with Barak and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, to narrow the gaps between the two sides.
